Day To Day Itinerary
DAY 01: – NAIROBI TO TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

Early morning pick-up from your Nairobi Hotel or Airport and transfer to the Nairobi Train Terminus for the Madaraka Express Train departing at 08:20hrs for Mtito Andei Station, arriving at 11:20hrs. You will be met by our Safari Driver Guide and drive to the nearby Tsavo West National Park. Upon entry into the park, enjoy game viewing en-route to the lodge for check-in.
Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge
Superbly situated in the lee of Mt Kilimanjaro and sheltered by the volcanic splendor of the Chyulu Hills, this classic stone-built lodge overlooks its own water hole, which is visited daily by elephants, buffalos and a wide variety of plains game.
One of the first lodges ever to be built in a national park, the lodge is cool, tranquil and hushed for optimum game-viewing, photography, and painting. It is also ideally placed for visits to all the park’s prime attractions. Enjoy Lunch at 13:00hrs at the lodge followed by free time at your own leisure.
At 16:00hrs enjoy an Afternoon game viewing drives in the park. Tsavo West National Park offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world with large herds of dusty-red elephants, hippopotamus, giant crocodiles, black rhinoceros and African buffalos. The park includes also the lion, the cheetah, the leopard. The “big five” can be seen in Tsavo. Birdlife is abundant as more than 600 species of bird have been recorded.

DAY 02: – TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

Full day in Tsavo with morning and afternoon game viewing drives at 06:30hrs and 16:00hrs respectively.
The Park offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world with large herds of dusty-red elephants, hippopotamus, giant crocodiles, black rhinoceros, and African buffalos. The park includes also the lion, the cheetah, and leopard. The “big five” can be seen in Tsavo.
Other animals commonly seen in the park are the zebra, the antelopes and gazelles, the mongoose, the hyrax, the dik-dik and the lesser kudu. Birdlife is abundant as more than 600 species of bird have been recorded. Some of the interesting areas to be visited are the Mzima Springs, Roaring Rocks, Chaimu and Shetani Lava sites to mention a few.
This afternoon, enjoy a Sundowner Cocktail at a location within the park as you mesmerize at the sun going down and the breathtaking view of the park beneath!

DAY 03: – TSAVO WEST TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy an early breakfast at the Lodge 07:30hrs then Depart and drive to Amboseli National Park to arrive in the early afternoon for check-in at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Set against the magnificent backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national park. Shaded by palm trees, is a free-form swimming pool; to either side of which stretch the rooms.
Lunch in the lodge followed by an afternoon at leisure to relax and soak-in magnificent views of the park from your room Veranda/Lounge or enjoy a swim in the lodge’s swimming pool.
At 16:00hrs, you will enjoy afternoon game-viewing drives in the park. Amboseli is one of the most popular destinations for safari-goers to Kenya, but it also offers some spectacular views of the highest free-standing mountain in the world – Mount Kilimanjaro. Elephants have a dominant presence in Amboseli; they are tracked almost constantly by researchers thus; the reason they have largely escaped the ravages of 1980s poaching. Here, you are able to spot some of the older “tuskers” lumbering almost delicately before the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
18:00hrs Drive back to the lodge in time to refresh for dinner.

DAY 04: – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

A day in Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game viewing drives at 06:30hrs and 16:00hrs respectively.
Elephants have a dominant presence in Amboseli; they are tracked almost constantly by researchers thus; the reason they have largely escaped the ravages of 1980s poaching. Here, you are able to spot some of the older “tuskers” lumbering almost delicately before the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
This evening, you will be hosted to a “Bush Barbeque Dinner” with traditional Maasai dancers.

DAY 05:– AMBOSELI TO NAIROBI

Early leisurely breakfast in the lodge. 08:30hrs Transfer to Email Train Terminus for your scheduled Madaraka Express Train departing at 12:00hrs for Nairobi.
13:45hrs Met on arrival at the Nairobi Train Terminus by a Serena Hotels Representative and transfer to Nairobi Serena Hotel where you have been booked on bed and breakfast for the night.

The Carnivore Restaurant
The Carnivore is a meat specialty restaurant. Serving Kenya’s most famous Nyama Choma (barbecued Meat) – it’s been an icon for tourists, expats, and locals for over years. At the entrance is a huge barbecue pit laden with real swords of beef, pork, lamb, chicken and farmed game meats such as crocodile and ostrich. It’s a memorable night out! You also get soup, salads, and sauces to go with the meats.
The experience works on a simple all-you-can-eat basis: as long as the paper flag on your table is flying, beautifully attired waiters will keep bringing the meat, which is carved right at the table. If you’re in need of a breather, you can tip the flag over temporarily before eventually admitting defeat. After dinner and some music, drive back to the hotel.

DAY 06: – NAIROBI TO MASAI MARA

Early breakfast in the hotel and check-out. 07:30hrs Transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara National Reserve departing at 10:00hrs to arrive at 11:00hrs. On arrival at the Mara Serena Airstrip, you will be met by your dedicated Lodge Driver Guide and drive the short distance to Mara Serena Safari Lodge for check-in and thereafter a brief game viewing drive in the reserve.
Mara Serena Safari Lodge
Perched on the saddle of a hill, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge has one of the most spectacular views imaginable across the vast plains, forests, and rivers that make up the Maasai Mara – one of the world’s richest wildlife sanctuaries. The lodge has recently undergone a refurbishment and new facilities in operation include a new reception, bar lounge, an arrival lobby area, and a gift shop.
A Serena Maisha Health Club and Spa featuring an exciting spa menu, steam, sauna, and gymnasium is also now open – an opportunity to have an experience of tranquillity and good health whilst on safari. There is a swimming pool and the new terrace gives you an opportunity to enjoy the sweeping views of the expansive Masai Mara plains. Enjoy Lunch at the lodge
16:00hrs Depart for an afternoon game drive in the reserve. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned males. You’ll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky – leopard, cheetah, and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents.You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, charge the batteries and enjoy yourself! 18:00hrs Return to the lodge to refresh for dinner.

DAYS: 07 & 08 – MAASAI MARA

Two full days in the Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing drives in the Reserve at 06:30hrs and 16:00hrs respectively. Certainly the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, Maasai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries and punctuated by marshes and forests.
This 650 sq kilometer reserve supports the highest density of the game to be seen anywhere considering its size. During the seasonal migrations, Maasai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebra that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania.
Hippo Pool Breakfast
On one of the mornings, crown your game viewing experience with a “Bush Breakfast” by the Mara River Hippo Pools! One cannot resist the charming “Jambo” from the chefs and Masai warriors as they welcome you to our wonderfully set breakfast buffet of cold cuts, fruits, cereals, and hot dishes with eggs made to your specifications as you wait. The hippos keep you company and only say “Kwaheri” (goodbye) after you have had enough.

DAY 09: – MAASAI MARA TO NAIROBI & DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the lodge.
09:30hrs Transfer to the nearby Mara Serena Airstrip for a scheduled flight back to Nairobi departing at 11:00hrs to arrive at Wilson Airport Nairobi at 12:15hrs.
Met on arrival by our representative and drive to Nairobi Serena Hotel for a farewell lunch at Café Maghreb Restaurant.
Later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your homebound flight.
